Electronics Question (Microwave, Tv)

Well I know we have all heard the myth's about Microwaves but here's my question will a microwave hurt nearby electronics? I have my DVD player on top of it and the TV is right next to it (it being the Microwave) I have read stories about microwaves doing damage to electronic items, would that be a problem? Thanks

Good question. Can't say I've ever heard of microwaves damaging electronics but it might be a possibility. I've never kept any electronics on or near a microwave before so I can't speak from experience.

Microwaves oscillate water molecules to cook food. Unless your TV or DVD player have water or moisture in them (:p), I wouldn't think it'd hurt anything. I could be wrong though. We have a microwave on the other side of the wall where my computers are and nothing's happened yet. But the microwaves are kept inside the shielded unit and don't actually come out (which is why you don't cook either standing by a running microwave) so again I don't think it'd harm anything. How long have your electronics been near it? Notice anything wrong so far?

Trial by fire....

Why the fuck is your DVD player on your microwave? Combined kitchen/lounge room? :wtf:

No actually its up in my bedroom, always good for late nights when the guys are over (that way I don't wake my parents). I was thinking along the same lines as Plastic_Fork, neither the DVD player or Tv should (should being the key word) have any kind of water in them.
