BAD distributor????????

took the celica back to the dealer (still under warranty) cuz its been jumping and sputtering when hot. anywayz he said hes gonna replace the distributor when it come in next week (ordered) that should fix the prob i guess, but.. i also asked him to check the motor mounts while hes under the hood cuz of this knocking noise i hear under the hood. (i also told him to see which mount is bad and id fix it, so he knew he'd have nothing to lose by finding a bad one, since its not a warranty part)so today i called and he said " the guys checked the mounts and tightened them down, but they didnt look that bad" driving home i noticed the noise is considerably lessened now, but still there some. SO.. if like he says the mounts arent bad, how come the noise went away somewhat? can a bad distributor make any knocking/rattling noises???

just read up on it a little .. bearing(s) in the distributor, could that be the sound im hearing?
