2000 Alero 6 cylinder IPC problem

I am writing to find out if anyone out there knows of problems with their Instrument Panel Cluster (came up when diagnostics were done)?? My car has had dying issues since June of 2004. The problem hasn't become any worse, but hasn't become any better. My mechanic says that I need to take it to the dealer now, because he doesn't know what to do. He thinks that it could be a crack in the pcboard. It is definitely a expansion and contraction problem. I live in Missouri and when it is humid, the car does not want to run. I am afraid of what the cost in the end will be if I take this to the dealer.
