I own a 91 PA Ultra with dynaride. The suspension isnt holding air any more and the back end just sags. Ive been to the dealer and was told that the replacement air struts are $250 a piece. im trying to get the part # of the air struts to do some shopping on my own. If not that way i want to find another way out of spending a large amount of money by fixing the problem another way. Most internet sources have directed me to KYB G2 gas struts but i dont think thats the same. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

From what I gather, this is a common problem. I have the same thing going on with my 92. For a short term fix, I went to Advance Auto and bought some of the bolt and bracket spring boosters. They were a little less than $10 for the set and did make a difference. A little tricky to get in though.. They'll hold the rear end up enough that it looks right, and even rides better, but when you get someone in the back it will still sag-not as bad though.

I know that wasnt much info, but maybe it can help. -Eric

you can get them at autozone for 75-90 bucks (price on my '87s).

Cover your basics tho, make sure it's not a cracked or disconntected air line, the level sensing arm is ok and that the compressor is getting power.

I recently found out that my saggy suspension problem was that the connector for the air compressor was disconnected under the hood. Apparently, the salesman must have disconnected it to prevent draining the batterywhile it sat on the lot.

I got my air ride struts at Pep Boys, they were $80 each. I still have problems, though. They won't hold air. Air lines are cracked, and the accuator switch is not working. Switch can be gotten at junk yard for under $50, but if you order one new, they are over $200. Find the coupling under the gas tank on the passenger rear side. Use a tester wire to ground the white wire out, and ifthe compressor kick on, you know that your accuator switch is out. I air mine up this way every day or two if I am carrying people or pulling my trailer. Otherwise, it sags very badly. I think I may try those spring boosters that were mentioned in this thread.
