My sun roof has just stopped working. I have a 96 Rs... it was working fine yesterday untill today it stopped working. I checked all the fuses... even open up the sunroof compartment... everything looks good. So can anyone tell me what happend and why it stopped working? By the way i installed my new stereo deck today... but i dont know if that can cause it. Please help!

actually yes that could cause it your cd deck could be takeing power away from your sunroof get a voultage tester (or what ever u call it lol) and check ur voltage for your power wire to your sunroof i dont know how much it is suposed to have but someone else proably does. A easier way to see if this is the proablem would be to unhook ur sterios power and see if it works then, hope this helps

did you use a wiring harness adaptor for the cd player or did you just hack of the old connector and splice the wires together? if you just spliced them you probably fucked something up in your little escapade of puttin in your stereo. if you didn't do it that way, check your fuses again. the sunroof stereo is down by your left foot in the fuse box.

Ok i hooked up the stereo legit. So no worrys about that. When i hooked up my stereo the "first" time i just used the ground wire from the deck and grounded it to a screw on the side of the console. When i did that it worked out fine and my sun roof works. SO... "SECOND" time i uninstalled the deck and now what i did different was that i used the ground wire that came with the [harnest] that i bought. So note the "first" time i just used the ground strait from the alpine deck. Now i connected the ground wire that came with the [harnest] to the alpine ground wire. The harnest ground had a screw holder... so when i hook up the deck it will give the ground a cleaner look. So after i did that.. thats when i relized that my sunroof didnt work. So you guys think it can be that harnest ground wire that was causing it?

i don't see how that's any different and would affect any electrical problems. double-check the fuse to make sure that's not the problem.
