wiring problems...

the wiring for my windshield wipers/sprayers is effed. after replacing the fuse it blew right away so i guess its a wire short. i really really dont want to spend the money on taking it to a shop so im wondering if anyone knows common places where wiring could be screwed up. and if anyone knows how much this kind of job would cost me at a shop, yea tell me
