WIP: Veilside RX-7

Decided to post this up.

This is my first all Airbrushed paintjob. It's Boyds Orange Pearl Enamel cleared with Duplicolor. Yep, I said duplicolor.

The interior will be painted tomarrow, It will be Flat grey. And don't bother saying "Leave it wingless" because I'm already planning on it :sunglasse

I finally got around to sanding the orange peel out and polishing it, I think it was a job well done.. best paint job (for me) to date.

Now, I come to a dilemma. Which rim's...

I'm going for the 19" TE-37's right now. The others are split 5 spoke Pegasus with the lip that came with this kit.

It came out good for your first airbrush job, I agree keep the te-37's and paint em gold.

That is an awesome paint color. Sorry to branch off of you, but I am using Krylon Fusion which is made for plastics and it looks awesome once you've laid down a couple of coats. Back to you. I say go with the te37's and keep them that color.

That's a long time to wait. I'm getting impatient already, and I just added the last two coats today. One week, but I was wondering if it might be able to be less days because the body is sitting in the warm dry garage. If so, would it be possible to get away with only 5 days instead of 7, or does that just mean I have to compound more?

Only reason it sat that long is because I was working on the Supra that I just finished (the one in my sig).

5 days sounds fine for enamel, as long as it's in a warm place.

Small update, Got the interior airbrushed. I need to paint the window trim on the body next.

They look perfect underneath the orange body. Keep them the way the are! Very nice paintjob btw!

Go on with those TE37 rims... But, where do you found them on 19"??? Are awesome man... About the color... I think some Grey, or metalized one.... I like that work. Keep us informed man :-D.

sorry to get off track guys, but I put the rims that came with the veilside on my R1 and slapped pegasus rubber on them.

DAMN! Sweet RX7's! The R1 looks soooo hot with the Veilside wheels on! Great stuff Josh!

So, after reading everyone else's posts saying you should use the TE-37s, I just gotta suggest stripping the chrome off the Pegasus rims, painting them some shade of metallizer (aluminum, magnesium, etc.), and using them instead. Perhaps the unpopular choice, but it would look hot.
Anyways, every car and it's sister has TE-37s. :iceslolan

well i'm kinda stuck usin TE37s cause the lip on the chrome rims belonged to the veilsid rims and they when on on RX-7 R1, So I no longer have the lip.

Anyways, here's a small update. Interiors almost finished.

Big update, Car's about 99% complete. I still need to touch up window trim, decals, and lights on the rear and get rid of the polish in the panel lines and what not.
