Hello again! I just bought a DC 4-1 Ceramic header, one piece. I wanted to see if you guys might have any suggestions for installation? It looks easiest to install it from the bottom of the car. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks guys.

It is pretty straight foward, that only thing I would suggest is that yo use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts holing it to the head. Also yo might want to use latex or nitrle gloves to install the new header so that you don't leave sopts on it with oil or grease etc.

Good suggestion on the gloves. Why the torque wrench? If needing specific torque spec... might you know what it is?

UPDATE - looked in the 1998 Acura Integra Service manual, and it says that the nuts on the manifold that hold it into the block are supposed to have 24 lbs/ft of torque... sound right?

from what I can tell there are two studs with 2 locking nuts on them, and then six bolts that hold the header on.

another question, will I be messing with o2 sensor?

Yes I think that the primary O2sensor is in the B pipe, so you will need to swap it over to the new header.
yes that sounds about tight for the torque, you just don't want to over torque them cause they can break easily if you are not careful.

Are there any concerns with breaking a bold or stud? My friend with a 91 saab 9000 (which we have done a lot too, taking out enine, replacing trans, playing with head) a stud broke on his exhaust manifold, and man it was a pain to get out... but integra's don't really have that problem do they? I mean, mine is a 1998, with 79k miles on it... it shouldn't be too hard to get those bolts out right?

Hi guys, I know that I'm bringing back an older thread, but I just got that header installed in my car. The DC header went in perfectly, matched up exactly and performs wonderfully. The bolts on the head were easy to get out, and the hardest part was getting the stock header off the mounting bracket just before the catalytic converter. I noticed exactly what most other have been saying from a 4-1 header; A boost in power, slight, from about 2k-3.5k, and a little bit of voiding power from about 4k-5.5k, then after that, suprising power all the way to redline. Definatly more than expected to see from the header. Thanks for the help whtteg!
