Is there a way to bench test a CPI unit? (like a junkyard CPI)
I have an extra intake manifold with gas connections and pressure regulator in it.
95 4.3 W code

It would be easier to bolt it in and test it, unless you have a few of them to test. You would need someway to supply the correct fuel pressure. There is a tool to pulse the injector.

They are probably the old defective design so testing and installing them would be pointless.

one of the only things that is different is the diaphram of the fpr, which is removable and replacable.

If you remove it and its wasnt leaking, and isnt coming
apart its probably ok.

Very poor assumption.

Very poor assumption.

Assumption? hmm No. how do you know what i know?
it sounds kinda bad the way i worded it "if its not coming
apart"... but ive done it(although I got one in good shape).

Why would you tell me is poor about that assumption
if it is not leaking and is in good shape and not falling apart, how
wouldnt it be worth taking a chance onit if your desperate. Its not
like theres hundreds of components that can break. Besides the
fpr leaking or the popper ends coming off they dont really
"break" to often

your always taking a chance when you getting parts from a salvage
yard.

forgot to add, the only poor assumption is the on you made in post #3

Look, you saying, "look, it is appears to be ok, it is fine" assumption is indeed just that, an ASSUMPTION.

My statement saying that it is not worth installing a used questionable CPI unit is NOT assumption, IT IS FACT.

Out of all the CPI units blowing up and leaking every week, you are now saying that he should install a used one of them in his truck?

GIVE ME A BREAK!

1. The subject is installing and testing the units

2. You said "They are probably the old defective design so testing
and installing them would be pointless." not sure how that gets
converted into "My statement saying that it is not worth installing a
used questionable CPI "

3. I dont know why, and this carries over from the other forums, for
some reason because you have an opinion on something you think its
always a fact. Like in your egr mod arguement on another webforum
who's name i wont mention, from what I remember you were wrong
about it the whole time, and eventually got banned for your veiws.
(wouldnt back down)

4. you maybe in godmode over here cause your always on here, and
people dont know better, but those who already go to, or venture
over to the dedicated enthusiast forums will get real answers instead
of the general assumptions I see some posting on here.

dont take all this personally but dude get over yourself,
you may get an ego boost by people looking up to you on
here but those of us elsewhere know better.

I got banned on that forum for questioning a engine mod. It just so happened that forum was also selling the mod in their store hence them getting pissy at me and then starting to slam me which is when I promptly defending myself.

Listen, you bringing that into this thread is a low blow and has nothing to do with this and it happened over a year and a half ago.

You said:

"one of the only things that is different is the diaphram of the fpr, which is removable and replacable.

I said that was not a very good assumption. There is nothing wrong with me backing the fact that patch repairing a old CPI unit is a BAD idea.

I am keeping this civil and you respond by insulting the membership of this forum by saying:

".....you maybe in godmode over here cause your always on here, and

What, now the guys here are stupid or something? Why don't you get off your high horse because if you don;t like the advice here,,,,,LEAVE!

Was hoping you found that

"patch repairing"? Have you ever heard of Lindertech fuel injection
services. Who offers remanufactured, I mean patch repaired(according to you)units.
Which some serviced, tested & cleaned. Oh but wait what do the experts know about re-using components.

I am keeping this civil and you respond by insulting ... you insulted me buy your stuck up response, in post 3 & 5, when
you Have no idea what the hell you were talking about.

What, now the guys here are stupid or something? Why don't you get off your high horse
No, that was refering to YOUR general assumtions. You should
be the one to tell me to get off the "high horse",you respond to
every post on here, get in the conversation and talk to people
as if they are somehow inferior, like you know so much more than
everyone else here. Not sure if it's intentional or not, but Im not
the only one who've noticed.

They think I am god????!!!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
No, if you re-read the thread which you even quoted in your reply, I
said, you think your god or a superior person on here.
If you were accually to take a step back and look at things,
and admit it to yourself, you would see what I mean.

That is just plain up funny as hell!
yes it is quite funny

have a nice day!

tehehehe!

I get a kick out of this. You compare someone swapping a new FPR on a older model CPI unit as being the same as a Lindertech refurbished and professionally tested unit? Oh boy.....

I help people on this forum and you take it as me thinking I am some of higher being or something which I am not, and I have not been rude to anyone unless they are being rude to me.

And looking at the thread you created at the other forum is just a sign of a coward that has to run to another place to bitch and moan and flame me where I can't defend myself. Face it, you don't have the guts to do it here.

You act like a pouting child.

I wasnt accually doing a comparison but you refer to servicing
used parts as "patch repairing" when people accually offer a
similar service for a living and do good with it.

And looking at the thread you created at the other forum is just a sign of a coward that has to run to another place to bitch and moan and flame me where I can't defend myself...

LOL whatever you wanna say buddy, Im done with this pointless
arguement. Whats stoping you from going there if you were able to
read it(nothing). Im sure you you read the part saying you were
never banned. YOU are just afraid to show your face or post there
anymore because people will treat you as a jacka$s.

Face it, you don't have the guts to do it here
No, Im just not stupid enough to give you any reasons to ban me
or get me banned here, despite how much you want me to. But at
this point I really dont care.

Why dont you try out your knowledge on the other forums your a
member of, alota people on them that you could help, but it seems
you avoid it, in order to not make yourself look bad when your wrong.

have a nice day!

Funny, I wasn't banned but my login and password does not work there.

Oh well, not that I really care. Most of that thread is bullcrap anyways and is only a coward that doesn't have the balls to say things to my face so he runs to another forum to flame me.

Have a nice day!!
