Tranny? Converter?

Okay... my car is a winner, here. I've got a 92 firebird with the 5.0 TPI. It's got around 210k on it, but it ran strong until a little while ago. I had a lot of problems starting it when it was cold out. The starter would slip every so often, so I replaced that. Now... Ever since that day that I replaced the starter, my transmission has been acting up. When the engine is cold, if I get above 2k rpm's, it starts to surge and jump like it's slipping, until it shifts to the next gear. After I get to Norm. Op. Temp., I can push it up to 3500 before it slips. I first thought my engine was surging, but the rpm's never jumped with the car, so I'm assuming it's transmission related. However, I'm not a car expert, so I'm turning to you for help. I'm going to go get the tranny flushed to see if that helps, but I'm sure I'll be back here shortly for more advice...
Note - I've done a little work to my car for street racing purposes. I've got a K&N filter on the throttle body with a Jet airfoil. I siamesed the runners as well. I put in Bosch Platinum spark plugs with 8.5 mm wires and an Accel cap and rotor. I installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and set it to the recommended pressure of 50psi. I put in a new O2 sensor and triple checked the reading on my TPS. I've also got a flowmaster exhaust system. I had all of the fluids and filters changed and replaced with top quality about 10,000 miles ago, with the exception of my oil and oil filter, which I change every 3 months. (It took me over a year and a half to get 10,000 miles) If you need to know anything else, just ask. I'm really getting frustrated with this, so any help you can offer is a godsend.

Is that the original Auto in that car?

Yes, it is. I had the mount replaced when I got the fluids all changed, but other than that, I've never had any problems with it at all until after I changed the starter. There was no gradual build up - one minute it worked fine, 2 hours later, it was slipping.

your starter never slips! common mistake. If it slips there are missing teeth on the flexplate. your slipping is probably do to a broken flexplate they usally brake around 100K but if yours has made 200K your lucky. Also your converter and tranny are getting worn as well and you should just replace them or rebuild at least
