Well i found out what was co\ausing the constant tapping / ticking noise it is my fuel injectors on my 91 sierra. My question is is there anyway to quiet them down, does this mean they are going to kick the bucket soon, or can you clean them or something? Any info on this would be great. Thanks

Hello
I have a 91 Sierra as well. My fuel injectors can be heard when the breather is off, but not when it isn't. I also have a ticky lifter when I first start my truck for about 5 seconds then goes away. Are you sure it's not your lifters making this noise? I'm not familiar with any noise relation to injectors as a sign of wear. Keep me posted please.

Actually it is not the lifters the motor is freshly rebuilt, the noise is definetly coming from the injectors, i cant really hear them unless the breather is off as well. But when in the truck with the radio and heater off i can faintly hear them as well. I was told it was nothing to worry about, that this was common, but i wondered if there was anything i could do to make the noise subside.

You probably have to live with that noise , I rarely have my radio off so I would never have heard that clicking noise they make from inside the cab. Nice to hear that it's not a problem though.
Take it easy
