stalls when idle

need help. i have a 97 f-250 powerstroke 7.3 diesel. just recently, it started to stall when i idle in traffic or make a slow turn (less than 5 mph). it only happens maybe once a day or every few days. any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I have an 01 7.3 and will die occasionally when I am idleing. It will also miss every once in a whilie when I am on the highway.

camshaft position sensor will cause this problem.

could be your catalitic converter stopped up i have a 87 ford 300 inline 6 and i replaced all my sensors and egr valve idle air valve etc it was the converter hope that helps later man

changed the Camshaft Position Sensor and its all good. Real easy fix. Took about 5 minutes to change out.
