I bought a Ford Explorer 94 one month back it is nice car with 53000 mileage only, but I have the following problems:
1- After driving 50-70 miles the front wheels goes vey hot realy hot, and you can feel that there is somthing graping the car, I've changed the front brake pads but the problem still same, the stange thing is while I am driving inside the city there is nothing. Has anybody had the same problem before?

2- 5 days ago the Oil guage showed that the oil level is low but the oil indicator needle does not show the same... strange.

if anybody knows what is going on with my car please tell me what to do

the oil needle indicates oil pressure not level. check the level with the dipstick. if it is full the level sensor isn't working. as for the wheels heating up the caliper sliders are probably stuck.

Thanks for the advice, do you think this oil guage is important, I have checked the dipstick and the oil level is Ok

the oil pressure gage is very important. the oil level light doesn't mean anything if the level on the dipstick is good.

If it is losing that much tranny fluid it is most likely the modulator on the transmission.

I had the same problem with my tranny fluid. I couldn't figure out where it was going until I had my oil changed. Imagine my surprise when my mechanic told me I had at least three extra quarts of oil. Turns out my tranny fluid was mixing in with it and Molehole was exactly right about the modulator. Only cost $14.95 to replace after I spent hundreads on tranny fluid for over a year. OOPS.

So I love my 92 and it has been quite loyal (226,000) but does need some work and still won't pass stupid smog so... just bought a 94. Runs great, loving driving a stick again, getting used to only having 2 doors but I need the little window replaced in the back seat (drivers side) and the air conditioner blows hot air. It is going to be 90+ all week so would like to fix the air. Any suggestions??
