This has been driving me fucking NUTS lately! It pops up every 3 or 4 minutes while Im online, and I have to close that window and start over. Its really bad on certain websites, and some it wont let me go on anymore. Anyone know what it means? Or how I can kill it?

It sounds like you have some Adware or Spyware that's messing with IE. Clean that up and switch to Firefox. That sounds like a good plan.

I agree. Use something like Spybot or Ad-Aware (or both - I use both of them) to clean up any spyware or adware that may be on your system. Then I would also make sure your plugins are up to date. Sometimes it causes issues if plugins are screwed up. Go to www.java.com and update your Java plugin and check Windows Update and see if there's any updates to install on your system.

If that still doesn't work, try here:
Internet Explorer 6 + SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en)

Download the standalone installer to your hard drive. Then uninstall IE and reboot. Then run the installer you downloaded to reinstall IE and see if that fixes it.

Pfft - easiest solution is to turn off error reporting :D

My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Error Reporting -> Disable.

Oz lol.

If you have Norton, do a virus scan and follow the directions if you have any viruses or spyware+adware; do a One Button Check-Up Scan and a Disk Scan. Should fix all.

It's easy to download both AdAware and Spybot from download.com I use both on my computers and they have worked remarkably well so far.

Microsoft bought a company called Giant, I would look into Microsoft Spyware Removal. I've used it before, it is not bad at all.

Hello KustmAce,

Get it fixed yet? As Tony Stewart Fan stated, AdAware SE Personal and Spybot S&D work very well. Run one after the other. Update them regularly (Search fo Updates/Check of Updates) -- I do mine at least twice a week. Make sure your virus signature files are also up-to-date (should be more often) and a full-system scan is run.
