305 to 350

my friend just put a 350 in his caprice i think its like an 88 anyways he asked me today if he should rebuild his tranny or get a new one altogether, i wasnt sure if for that up-grade u needed a different transmition or not, if anyone could tell me that would be cool, i forgot to ask what kind he had to start with (guess that would have been helpful info eh)

Most likely he has a 700R4. And As long as it was healthy before it should be fine with the new 350. They have the same bolt pattern so it will work with both.

i think he may need a rebuild, he said it was slipping and shifting bad, either that or buy a new one
