I'm thinking of rebuilding another engine, this time for a camaro. I can and have done it before to other cars, but what are my options for a camaro, and which one would you choose?

ls1 cause its ls1 but performance parts are more expensive
lt1 not as good as ls1 but performance parts are general cheaper.
get ls1 or if you have the bling get ls6

350 (lt1 I think, not sure). Cheap, tough, and there's so much stuff avaliable you'll be able to get any level of power ot of it you want.

i would say just do a good old fasioned sbc. the LT1 has an optispark that i dont much care for. And a carburated sbc will open you up for a first, second, or third gen camaro. If you do a more modern camaro its going to be far easier to do a fourth gen camaro. cuz an older style will have to be redone with wiring fuel and computer controls. With modern parts you can build a 454 cid small block that makes 600hp naturally asperated. and would be just at home in any camaro from 1967 to 1992.

383 TPI!!!!!!! :evillol:
You readin' this Damon, I am encouraging the use of your patented motor! By the way, did the '85 Firebird Trans Am come with a 350 TPI?

I say no. I think 87 was the first year for the 350's return.

454 small block??????
you mean big block right....
the largest small block i know of (common) is the 400 although i think theres also like a 402 or something but thats about it
but on that note stroke a 427 with the 454 cranck and cam it up and put a heavily built transd and just hold on lol
but for the price get a 350 4 bolt and do some mods real cheap and you can get some powerand penny for penny its gotta be carbed but try and get alluminum heads and if you can stroke it good low end just dont over rev it
good luck
