Hi guy's Im about to order a set of ION Style 165 Chrome rims for my 1993 k1500 . Think they'll fit....but not sure. THe backspace is 4 1/4 inches. The guy at the tire shop said he'd go with 16x8, but I think the 16x10's will fit fine. He seemed worried about the ball joints rubbing on the inside of the rim. Anyone got some advice on this. Thanks-

10's should fit in the rear but I think I'd agree with the tire shop guy regarding rubbing. By the way, the tire shop guy works with tires day in and day out. Why don't you believe and/or trust his opinion?

Not all the guys know much shit. They just try and sell you shit.

Usually if they try to talk you into a cheaper item (I'm assuming the narrower rims are cheaper), it's because it won't work... or it's the last set in existance and he wants them for his truck :)

Generally I would leave it to his "supposed expertise", but not in this case... For a few reasons. First, I have 15x 10's on there now, but I'm not sure of the specs for the offset/backspace, Second, he wasn't real sure of himself, he kept wanting me to bring it in to see what would fit. I understand that a trial fit is the most sure way to check this, but the truck is in the paint shop and I hate letting the guys trying to sell me stuff take my keys - too much leverage! So, I'm still not sure if they'll fit. My main concern was in the front... Any more ideas? Thanks-

That is a lot of backspacing. If they don't rub, they will be close.

Why not just get some with less backspacing??

I just picked them out by style and price and then noticed the spacing issue....I could attempt to find something similar
