went a little too fast through this place. Here's how he ended up.

His brother got killed in his Cobra a few years back.
If you've got nothing nice or sympathetic, please don't post.

It's amazing he lived, and with no major complications.
People from the Chicagoland area might remember this from last week, but a friend of mine died in a car accident in Naperville. Really puts thing into perspective when this sort of thing happen, I have controlled my driving and slowed down a lot.

Since the article was published, they found that Anthony was actually the passenger at the time, his brother was thrown out of the car and he was thrown into the driver's seat.

One lucky guy. Did he learn his lesson?

I'm sorry this is not nice or sympathetic but he should have learned a lesson when his brother lost his life.
Now for nice or sympathetic:
I'm glad for his parents that they didn't lose another one.

I'm glad your friend is ok, i'm more glad for his parents if anything. If he doesn't learn from this one however, he wouldn't have my sympathy again.

I hope this person and all the people he interacts with can use this as a positive turning point in the future. The road isn't a race track and as mundane as it is, 95% of your cars driving is commuting. Please be careful out there guys. Not worth it.

Ditto to that Oz. Unfortunately, it took me 3 accidents to learn that.

Took me 3 accidents, 4 speeding fines, a license disqualification and the loss of a good friend. But I learned it good.

Problem with a lesson like this is what to take away. One could argue that he simply learned not to drive so fast or reckless, or how to do it next time without getting hurt.
I feel for the family on this one. It's never easy to lose a child. never.

I'm sorry to hear that Oz, I hope you're coping.
Jet, I wish your friend a speedy recovery, and I can only hope he's glad he's ok.

That's true, and a good point that I'm sure everyone was thinking.
Thanks all for your kind words. He's doin alright, still kinda in shock about what happened and he made it out with as little injury as he did, esp. after seeing that clipping in the newspaper and seeing what his car looked like.
I should know more on his state of being later today.
