Hi everyone,
I am new at this and have some back ground as a mechanic but I never really worked on cruise controls. I just bought a 98 Taurus and I am trying to fix it up a little at a time. The cruise control does not work. I replaced the on/off switch because the buttons were gone and checked the fuses. I can hold down the on button and the coast button at the same time and the horn honks. I also replace the brake switch because the wires had been burnt. Any ideas?

Thanks guys,
I answered my own question: what I did--I put a on/off switch first after checking the fuses and adding a brake switch that did not work so I added the set cruise switch and the switch behind the brake padle--it was green. I don't know what this switch is called--but anyway this fixed the problem.
