really depends on the job. my mom's car was something like 450 from maaco and the car looks really good.

well it all depends on the amount of prep work and quality of paint used. im getting my car repainted silver this summer but doing all the prep work myself and its only gonna be around 400$ for a really good paint job, im talking lots of clearcoat, and good quality paint. but usually for a good one with them doing the prep anywhere from $800-2000, depending on the shop.

don't use suckass maaco! if a car looked good coming out of there they must not have touched it, my friend took his eclipse there, it came out looking spray painted (literally). when he tried to get them to fix it or even give his money back they made up some b/s about he must have taken it to a car wash to soon (he didn't), and they said there was no warranty as far as that went. fuck maaco, fuck em with a flamming baseball bat from keith's car, i swear to god, ahh the hell with it

ONE--:flash: :flash: :flash: well chameleon paint is crazy expensive a gallon. prepping consists of taking off all your bumpers and lights but don't sand the lights obviously just set them off to the side, and sanding them all the way down to the metal (in bumper cases, the urathane) making sure you get all the paint off, then filling in all dents with bondo and whatever else you wanna fill in such as shaving things. in my case this summer it will be my emblems and side moudlings. then you have to prime the car completely with a few coats, to make sure none of the metal is showing and able to rust, and to make a good surface for the paint to stick to. that is a main overview of it. your gonna wanna ask someone whos done it to give the details of how many coats of primer and how many times you should sand, such as wet sanding it, and what grit sandpaper to use at certain times. oh yeah i suggest taking off your rims if you have them and putting your steelies on.

for a chameleon paint job it is anywhere from 5000 on up. When I had my car painted it was estimated that the materials(sp) alone were somewhere in the 4000 dollar range. Its mad expensive but if you can afford it it is well worth it just to watch the expressions on peoples faces.
