i'm not sure about up there but down here in ATL you can get a ticket for altered suspension. but usually cops don't bother.

in most states the law is that the bottom of your frame can't be lower than the bottom of your wheel. But many states also have a minimum height for headlights and taillights as well.

I heard somewhere that the center of the headlight needs to be 18" from the ground. But then again, some counties/cops consider any aftermarket mods 'illegal'

I'd call your local PD non-emergency number and ask specifically for the laws regarding this...and read over them word for word...find out what law they are accusing you of breaking.

Also I don't know if you have springs or airbags, but most county's will give fix-it tickets...you fix the thing they ticketed you for, show up at the county court or wherever and they check it out, see that it is back to 'normal' and charge you a $30 fine for wasting their time, but drop the $600 ticket.

You should ask the police or courts about this option as well. But as you obviously know, this is semi-easy if you have adjustible suspension or airbags, but if you just have lowering springs...it will take more time or money than you may think worth...just trying to offer up some options.

Oh yeah, if you don't mind me asking, where in PA are you from, and why did the cop pull you over?
Typically, around me, near Philly, I've only heard of cops giving such tickets in addition to street racing tickets. (IE, they caught you and are really trying to screw you) I haven't heard of anyone getting pulled over simply for passing a cop with a dropped car. Then again, you never know. I'm not trying to insinuate you were racing or doing anything illegal...I'm just curious is all.

..........many states also have a minimum height for headlights.........The DOT has their thinking convoluted. There should be a maximum height for headlights. Most lights are aimed in your face, not on the road..§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§REFUSE . . TO . . LOSE§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§
