The back-up lights (both sides) on my '98 Eclipse have quit working and the bulbs have been checked and are good. Can anyone tell me the location of the switch that activates the lights when put in reverse?

Its on the tranny. I know its on the manuals. Look under the hood under the airbox, on top the tranny. Theres a piece coming out, with a wire attached to it. That may be bad. Dont know where to get a replacemnnt, but not hard to do

If your car is turbo, I can tell you exactly where it is. If its NT, I cant. Unfortunately I have no idea what car you have. Thanks again.

No, it is normally aspirated, 4 cyl., I think a 2.3L give or take a tenth. It is actually my daughter's car and she is out of town at the moment or I would tell you the exact Liter displacement.

Also it is a 5 speed standard. Sorry I didn't mention.

Its on the tranny where I mentioned it then. Not had at all to replace. If you need pics of location I can post some later. Its right on top of the tranny up in front.
