Transmission Suspicion

I just changed U-joints. After installing the driveshaft, with tranny in nuetral I rotated the driveshaft by hand and can hear a squeal, like a bearing in the tranny. I hear it when in Drive direction only, not reverse. I don't hear it when driving down the road, but want to know if this is normal or if it indicates something in the tranny is about to go bad. Trans fluid is OK.

95 4.3W 4L60E trans.

I'm not an expert on transmissions, but without hearing your specific squeal, I would say that it doesn't seem unlikely that rotating the output shaft of the tranny while the pump isn't working to send oil to all the normal places might generate a squeal somewhere in it's workings. For my truck, if I didn't hear it while driving, I probably wouldn't worry too much.

Yea, it was probably dry seeing the fluid might have to be pushed back into the tailshaft assembly again.
