you can get a gas cap for under $5 at http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/
for my car it's on this page: here (http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=Civic&catcgry2=1995&catcgry3=2DR+EX&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=FUEL+TANK) and its $4.84 illustration #16

You may get a check engine light with no gas cap so don't be surprised.
If you do...reset the ECU after you install the new cap.

thanks for the info guys, i went to buy a temporary gas cap at pep boys today. i'm still going to buy the oem one. here's the strange thing about it. the check engine sign already pop up even when i still have my original gas cap on. i even reset the ecu, after i drive for a few miles, the sign pops up again. this has happening for about 5 months now.

you probably have some other problem exists before the gas cap. Check what code is the ECM giving you and find out what that code means.
