How many miles you got?

There's a poll in the Silverado forum about how many miles people have on the original motor. Got me wondering about the older ones, so, what's y'all got on 'em?
159,000 on mine.

'94 C1500 W/T 92,436 miles. Still going strong, bought it brand new, ( first new vehicle and probably my last new vehicle, as I'd rather buy used.) Hope to get well over 200,000 on the 4.3 under the hood.

It's all in the way you maintain it. I always said I'd be happy if my truck made it to 250,000 before I needed a new motor and/or tranny. But reading some of these post makes me wonder if I can push it further since I bought my truck w/44K on it and I'm the 2nd owner and religiously maintain it!

You shouldn't have any problem doing that. My buddys uncle has over 600,000 on the original 4.3. He's replaced the valve stem seals and that's about it. The 4.3 and 5.7 are the best motors ever made.

my dads old 89 silverado was still runnin strong with the original 350 and the zr700 or whatever tranny in it. when he sold it it was somewhere above 190,000 i dont remember exactly the number and all it did was smoke a little burnt oil if u start if after letting it sit for more than a couple days. the only major work EVER done on the truck was replacing the vavle seals at 30,000 miles b/c apparently those engines are notorious for having the seals go bad. all he ever did other than that was change the oil every so many miles and nothin else other than changing the rear diff fluid one time cause the posi wasn't kickin in or the diff was staying locked up or something. it pulled like a mule too. my current 73 cheyenne has somewhere north of 150 k on the engine and trans and it has the same smoke at startup and also the cam is messed up cause it backfires like a mofo

Mines a 92 model, 350, 700R-4 trans, 132,xxx as of now (nearly 60,000 of that has been put on it over the past 4 years BTW). It gets about 300+ miles a week too, runs fine. I use Valvoline MaxLife oil (10w30), 16oz. of STP Oil Treatment, and a bottle of some kind of fuel treatment at every oil change (3000 miles).
My Dad's is a 91, same engine and tranny, 115,xxx (I think), with the same maintenance (only he uses 10w40). His really has it rough though becusae it barely gets 50 miles a week, lol (and I'm not j/k about that being hard on a vehicle).
My uncle just bought a 92 C3500 dually. It's got 149,xxx showing and has a 454, but it is a crate engine, so I dont really know how many miles are on it. He just got it pretty much in order to pull a 24ft enclosed trailer. He had been towing it with his 03 Z-71 which handled it really well, but you really need atleast a 3/4-ton truck to pull a boxed trailer IMO.
I know another person with a 92 K1500, 4.3 and a 5-spd with over 200,000 miles, still drives it every day, and he puts probably 300+ miles a week on it as well.
My cousin has a 92 K1500, Z-71. It has around 150,000-160,000 showing, but I believe the odometer got rolled back by the original owner (he's the 3rd). It has a GM Crate Engine as well as a different tranny, but again, who knows the actual mileage on this truck (somebody close to the people that had it said probably well over 200,000). Either way, it evidentally is a tough truck, becuase he run it almost dry of oil one time (had to add 4 quarts to it, they only hold 5) and nothing has happend as of yet, and thats been probably 9 months ago, lol. He doesn' take the best of care of it (neither did the original owners), plus its got a 3-inch body lift and 315/75/16s.
But these trucks have a proven track history I would say. Its def. not uncommon to see them with over 200k.

My 96 has 114000 on it, I am the second owner. Just bought it about 3 months ago. Traded in a 2000 Silverado, and I already like this truck better than that Silverado!!
Chevy quit building trucks in 99 as far as I am concerned...
JMHO
And I agree with J-ri, the 4.3 and 5.7 are awesome motors!!
I like my 5.7 better than that ticking 5.3 that I had!!
I have also owned a 4.3, very strong for a V-6!!

I have a 98 GMC K1500 w/217,000 miles on it and it runs great.I'm just now starting to have problems with the emissions system(Evap, and O2 sensor circuits). Also I have a code P1810( TFP valve position switch circuit). But up until now it's been a great reliable truck. Most mileage put on it was done pulling a load behind it also.
