03 Dodge Ram 2500

I am looking at buying a 03 Ram 2500 diesel. Any known problems with this truck. I herd that the automatic transmissions go out on these trucks, is this true?

If you can by extended warranty.Its pay.
I think diesel warranty is 6 years 100000miles
powertrain.Check that too.
