Headlights/Dash dimming sporadically

I've seen a few people post that their headlights dim sometimes while just driving. Mine have been doing it once in a while and the other night it kept happening for about 10 mins. straight.
I brought it to the dealership today and they said they can't reproduce it so there is nothing they can do.
I was wondering if anyone has successfully figured this out or knows of anything I can tell the dealership about it.
Thanks!

Usual deal......if they can't find the problem or if it doesn't pull up a code....then they can't/won't do anything.
What year do you have & how many miles on her?
Could your altenator be going bad?

Its a 2004 TB LT with approx. 7200 miles on it. The guy at the dealership said that he'd heard of it on Chevy Ventures, but not on TB.
I'll check to see if i have a trailer hookup wire (I think I do, just never used it)..
Thanks

Atleast your dealer did something, mine said they won't do anything until they can see it happening. So I'm just going to drive around with the headlights on during the day and watch the dash to see if they act up. Guess this will be my last GM car.

My 2005 Trailblazer LS did this with about 1000 miles on it. I had it idling in the drive way with the parking lights turned on. Turned headlights on and headed to work. I noticed all lights including interior and cluster would dim and go back to normal. The amp meter would drop from like 11 to 14 in sync with the dimming lights. It stayed this way till i stopped at a red light, and restared the truck. It hasn't done it since.

i am having the same problems and they have not fised it as of yet. I have taken it back 4 times and it is still messed up. They cant determine what is causing the lights to dim. I am turning it in as a Lemon. I love the truck but not the problems..DC

Have the same problem on a 2004 LT 6 with 14,000 miles. Started at around 600 miles with headlights and dashlights dimming and nav system resetting just before reaching operating temperture. At 12,000 miles it went crazy flashing every few seconds for over 20 miles, did not repeat after restarting that day. Dealer did not find a problem but replaced the alternator. The flashing continues, one flash when it reaches operating temperture. Voltmeter shows a drop to 12 volts from normal 14.2.
Going to dealer again next week for same problem, he wants to replace the battery.
I really love this truck so if anybody has any ideas pass them along.

As of right now I am in the works with my lawyer and GM is want to resolve the issue. We are in talks about giving me a new truck to my liking or a refund. This is the only way that I could get anything done is go to a lawyer.

DLINDEMAN,
I have a 2005 Envoy that has the same problem. If I contact the dealer is he going to know where this ground wire is located? I've taken this complaint through GM to the BBB and will go before the arbitator in mid-January. I'd like to be able to tell GM that the problem was fixed by searching the internet.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

So do you have to remove the whole console or can you get to it another way?

Mine did it a couple of weeks ago, same symptoms as everyone else. I stopped for gas and had it turned off for a few min. and the problem went away and has not come back yet. (6000 miles on my 05)

I have an 05 and it just started doing this 26k miles. The lights flicker. headlights and interior lights, dash.
What is the deal. Any idea where the ground is that is mentioned in this forum? Did you get your problem resolved? Please help.
It is still under warranty, but I have no faith in any mechanic other than my self. And I haven't a clue.

Has anyone had any luck with fixing this problem. The person who mentioned the ground problem sounded promising.

We had the same issue - headlights and dash flickering while driving. This progressed to occasional (and then almost daily) bouts of dead ignition when trying to start. No door chimes, no radio lights, nothing. Fiddle with the key, wait a bit, eventually it would start and run as normal. Except that the power windows moved really slowly when the truck wasn't running and the seat memory seemed to require multiple button presses to get to it's proper position.
No codes at the garage, but they did find a loose ground wire. Since fixing that three weeks ago, I haven't had any of the earlier symptoms. And the best part... my local garage (NOT a dealer) didn't even charge me for the fix!
Again, I'll offer my theory that these trucks were built by monkeys.

2004 trailblazer is started last night. 50,000 miles. What is the solution to the flickering? Acts like a ground or loose connection. I noticed that the voltage gage drops when the lights flicker.

our 05 TB did the same thing after some checking on the NTSB web site we found that the switching solenoid on the air injection pump was cycling causing the problem. as of 04/06 GM knew of the problem but had no fix.
hope this helps
