Ok folks, I don't know about you all, but everytime I put gas in my 2000 Silverado, 5.3, Z71; I just want to drive off without paying. (Something about taking my license away and jail time keep me from doing it)

Anyway, in my quest to get the most out of my fuel, what are some products that you all have tried that have shown PROVEN improvements in you gas milage. I have installed a K&N Intake system and was impressed with it.

Has anyone tried one of those advertised fuel atomizers or that turbonator thing? Any other products out there that are useful?

Umm...i really hate to rant but this is one of biggest pet peaves. If you buy a fullsize truck, do not complain about gas mileage. I mean i know gas is goin up but what did you expect. If your truck averages 15mpg or more i would say that should be fine. If you want a truck with good mpg get a mid size truck, or you could just buy a honda of some sort. there i feel better now, but anywho...for better mpg (more importantly more hp) i would get and intake system, flow flowing cat-back exhuast, and a tonnuea bed cover. There are all sorts of other things also but those are the best/most common three.

Greetings Mercury,

Another current thread is all about gas saving ideas and products.

I linked it below to make it easy to get to.

A key point in my thinking is this - improving the efficiency of the truck will also improve its performance/hp too and should under normal purposes - extend its usable life.
