I have started to notice a noise on the passenger side of the Engine. It sounds like gears whining but I feel the engine and there is no vibration. I feel a vibration on the bar that hold the Alt. I am not sure if it is the Alt. or the Engine. If anyone can help or has any ideas let me know.. Thanks..

OkI am going to try and redefine the sound. It sounds like when a rock is barely touching a fan. I think the sound is either comming from the Alt or the A/C compresser unit. Not sure but nothing is being effected by it YET. I am just tring to find out what the problem is before anything does happen. If anyone has any Ideas Please let me know.

I have 92 3.2 dohc v6 trooper
I started to notice that the oil gage started droping everytime I would come to a stop while in use between 30psi close to 10psi, so I asked someone who's a Mech. to check it out for me. Engine wasn't needed and the gage was still reading as if the presure was low. this person said that this was normal for these kinds of cars. 2 days went by and the engine started making a slight rattle when I came to a stop, as I proceeded down the block the noice became louder, I stopped the car and looked under the hood and it seemed as if something if ti was comming from the Timming chain. I took the car straight home adn waited for the Mech. to come by and have another look at the Troop. He looked around the Engine and said that it might be the oil pump that had came loose.
If anyone has the same problem please!, please!give me some feedback Because this is the only car I have to move around in.

same thing happen with my lebaron...
i believe its the oil sending unit.
when it clogs oil pressure drops and your valves start ticking and tapping THEN KNOCKINGGG....sound about right?
usually oil sending units are fairly easy to change if your half witted and know where it is.in my case 95lebaron gtc i dont know where it is.
i think it is the unit that oil filter screwes into.?
i been working on cars 15years and i never did a sending unit!
dont drive that car tapping cause you will blow it up!it dont sound like your mech friend is too mechanicly intelligent...tow it to the shop,if u cant do it,or have someone do it for you

Sounds like your bearings may be going on you. Remove the belt and check for freeplay in your accessory pulleys. If you have any, the part will have to be replaced
