I finally go the exhaust leak fixed on my 94 maxima, but it has sat for about a year now, without really being driven, I was going to take it to get it inspected, but somebody told me it might fail emissions, just because it has sat so long. Is this true, and if so, is there anything I can do to help it pass? Thanx...Can't afford to pay for more than one inspection!

... to pay for more than one inspection!
Any car starts degrading day one, out of mfg plant. Like humans: day one is one day less off from eternity.
Standing itself "does not degrade anything". Do drive a round some hundred miles before inspection to get any problems on the surface, and all parts like brakes exercised (they rust in humid air, no use). All wiring connectors etc continue oxidation even if the car stands or runs: one day they'll just fail. Who knows the date? Thats the way world goes...
Change filters, plugs, clean connectors etc. Check that voltage at batt is 13.8V or more while idling (computers need that to adj engine...)

any car that has sat around for a year or more is asking for trouble...cars have to be run every once in awhile to keep the lubrication systems in working order...hell, your oil might have turned to the consistency of molasses in that one year period, and you might not even know it.

I know the car is in good shape, I have serviced it and ran it throughout the year. I just recently changed the oil, checked all the connectors, changed plugs and wires, and checked everything else. The car is running good and smooth, I was just wondering if there was any truth to the rumor that it could still fail because it hasn't been driven regularly.
