wheel spin

On 2g GST's, is the wheel spin that bad on the track? I would probably going to the track maybe 2-3 times a month, and I'm gonna mod it like hell. Besides those few times at the track, it's going to be the daily driver. The reason I ask is because there are no 2g GSX's around me, and if they are, they are either rediculously modded, or super high miles with problems, so it looks like I'm gonna be gettin a GST.
On the positive side, there are a few reasonable, cheap GST's around me, and there are no AWD dyno's around here.

at the track i bet the wheel spin is outrageous. Because its pretty bad as a daily dirver. You really just have to know how to drive the car. Also some nice high performance summer tires will help. I'm going Yokohama AVS ES100

wheel spin is a problem, wheel hop is an even bigger problem, which is bad because wheelhop not only slows you down, it makes you break things.

I just bought really nice dunlop performance tires. They won't break lose unless i floor it in first going about 15 or higher. Tires make a HUGE difference

What will fix wheel hop? Will the polyurathane motor mounts fix it?

they help, but ideally you want to get an LSD...

Ok, so lets say I get a Quaife LSD, and polyurethane motor mounts, will this make me much better?
I like that with the GST, you cant beat it on the highway unlike the GSX with the drivetrain loss, but with the lsd, will it still be like that? I also want it good for track use though.

a gsx will hold its own on the highway until your going 130+ its just that the awd's are geared lower so they top out sooner. dunno about you but ariound here there isnt anywhere that i would go 130+ long enough to have a gst beat me.
you might have to drive for awhile to get a gsx. im assuming that you know tsi awd's are the same as a gsx.

Ya, I know they are all the same, but I prefer the eclipse body to the talon. And I also know you can convert it, but I'm still a student, and I work, so I wouldn't have the time to have that done.

Have you compared Talon TSi AWD to a GSX? Usually they cost less and then you have to figure out if it will be the same to get an Eclipse body on the Talon. Around my are, I can get a Talon and put a body kit and still be cheaper than the same model Eclipse.

Ya, I know they are cheaper, but there are even less tsi awd's than gsx's around me lol

keep searching, get on everyday on autotrader and look up 90-99 eclipses and talons in your area. An awd tsi or gsx will pop up eventually but its tough to find one quick I know. I used to be searching for vr-4's all the time and they were extremely scarce and now I'm leaning towards gsx's/tsi's but all of a sudden they have become scarce as well and vr-4's have shot up tremendously around my area.
Whichever you wind up with I'm sure you'll be happy to be boosting.

If you want a gsx, get a gsx dont settle for less. youll regret it.

AWDs are geared lower, but they still have a lot of top end. Just raise the rev limit. Shep is trapping around 165, still in 4th, with stock gearing. The lower gearing will also provide more torque multiplication rasing top speed for a given crank torque/hp, assuming both cars are aerodymically limited, as every car on this forum will be.
