hatch locked

does anyone have any suggestions about what to do with my hatch? i cna pop the hatch with no prblem form the inside of the car, but when i try to open it with the key, the key goes in, but wont turn in either direction. the key used to work, and it isnt really a big deal, but there are just sometimes it would be easier to use my key. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried using WD40 or the like?
My trunk was the same way... I "lubed" it up, it must have been corroded or something...

no, i actually hadn't thought about that. duh, retarded... i'll try it in a few days (when it warms up alittle) and see if that helps. thanks for the suggestion!

Sorry, just looked funny to me.

I have the same prob but I have to hold the lever in the car have someelse open the hatch for me it sucks my key wont work I tryed everything. some things just stop working that might be your case. try lubing it up first before you say screw it. I am having a new key made to see if that helps.

ive tried new keys on mine and it didnt help at all - now i just have like 4 extra keys laying around for no reason

I think this is a notorius dsm issue. Mine is sometimes like that, and sometimes isnt. Now I have a 2 way Compustar Alarm Starter combo and I installed a solenoid for the hatch lock so I can use my remote to open it...PIMP!

sweeeet! WD40 worked (at least for now). hopefully it was a permannet fix - if not, it worked for awhile at least!
