Question For Hardcore DSM Tuners...

This is pretty random, but very important to me, so if you have any ideas or knowledge please share...and i know my car isnt an eclipse, but it involves an eclipse part, and there is no one in the starion forum section.

Preface:

I have an 84 Starion w/ an 88 motor swap, and basically when i got the car, i was looking for ways to do some easy tuning. 84 came stock at 7 psi and non-intercooled, so i bought an intercooler, and am going to bump up the boost to 10psi (highest safe level for stock ecu) and am going to hook that up w/ a bov and vent to atmosphere...

but i went to put a aftermarket cone filter on, and found (to my suprise, never worked with a car this old) the stock air box is not only that, but it is the MAF itself, i was shocked when i opened up the air box, but i did some research, and found that eclipse gst MAFs could be used as an upgrade, does anyone have any idea if this is true, and what kind of wiring may be needed for it? or any general knowledge concerning this issue.

I think this might be better suited for the starion forum, if there is one. and if you found that it could be used as an upgrade, would that location where you found it probably not have more information regarding it?

i have heard of using a 2g eclipse MAF sensor on a 1g as an upgrade but im not sure if a gst from a 1g would be an upgrade.
