I have a 90 trooper with a 2.8 v6 and a manual trans, and recently changed the engine for a new used one with 87,000 miles. I had it running for about 5-10 minutes while I was adjusting the valves and it stopped running. The throttle body is not working, but there is fuel coming to the throttle body when the engine cranks so I know the fuel pump is working. It will start with a shot of starting fluid but dies when the fluid runs out. I checked the trouble codes and it came up with a code 43 which is a faulty knock sensor or a bad memcal. I replaced the ecu tonight and the same thing. Can anyone please point me in some sort of direction. Thanks in advance!!!
