2001 Dodge Dakota Sport PROBLEM

I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport with 55,000 miles. While driving recently my truck started to slow down and shake significantly. It felt like there was a lot of pressure buliding as I tried to accelerate. The more I drove, the worse the problem got until I reached a safe place to stop. I then noticed a burning odor when I exited my vehicle. Then I started and turned off the ignition several times where I felt and heard a short violent shake under the hood. Can someone please help me!

check for sticking brake calipers or contamination such as oil or different stuff in master cylinder

Cats are covered under warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles, regardless if you are the original owner or not.

I have a similar-sounding problem on my '01 (club cab, 4.7, 4x4, auto). The front brakes heat up, but it only happens when I turn on the A/C so I'm reluctant to replace the master cylinder. Anybody out there have experiencing this? Any solutions?
