ive got a 95 ls with about 138,000 miles on it, ive got the money now to do what ive always wanted to do with it, and that is turbo what should i do with the engine? should i put new internals in my engine , do a head swap (b16) or should i do a whole motor swap

ok, with 4 g's you can do a full swap without a turbo, or head swap with a small turbo, or build the internals and go boost happy.. it all depends on what u want out of your car.

right, im asking which would be better? id rather just build the internals ive got in my motor and turbo. im not looking to make the car super fast, but id like to make it quicker :)

well, stock internals i believe handle 300hp. so just buy a nice turbo.

How many horses can you get out of a ft lb of boost? If I remember correctly the LS stock intenals could handle 7 or 8 pds of boost safely... but I didn't think that 7 or 8 pds would equal 300hp... maybe I'm dumb, but anybody?

maybe im wrong... all i know is for $800 i can get any block sleeved. so that should fix that problem.

if your not looking for much power, then, i dont see why you would need to sleeve your block. maybe itll be worth it later when the boost bug bites harder. the b18b will require more boost compared to its other B series counter parts to reach your desired goals. the b18b will handle more boost better though due to its 9:2:1 compression. 300hp is a realistic goal with the proper engine management system. though, nothing is garunteed. detonation is the enemy. search is your friend.

heres the man to sleeve your block. if you coose so.

you can also find great buys for used blocks.

Hey, i am new to the whole tuning ideal and I have a 1.6L 1995 Honda Del Sol SOHC VTEC. I am pondering on what turbo to get for my SOHC VTEC? Any Ideas...

the ls can handle 300whp reliably for 20k or so. thats why reliable is a loose term in meaning, it wont break down on you for those 20k or so. if you want your motor to last long, i would suggest less boost. all the stock ls motors ive been reached 300whp at around 14psi.

I boosted 14 pounds daily till I busted up my ringlands.

Hondata. I put around 20,000 hard miles on the car before they let go. Turbo was a T3/TO4E 57-trim.

nice, 20,000 hard miles on stock pistons at 14 psi is ALOT longer than i would have expected  eh, at least they didnt go thu your block!
oh jw how much did hondata services run ya?

PS
my ringlands are already almost gone too BUT they only went less than 1K miles :icon16: (d15b block)
