Inside lights?

When I open the door, my inside lights do not come on unless I turn the light wheel next to the dome lights button.

Is there a fuse for that?

If not, what is causing that?

I heard the electrical systems on this year isn't the best.

Sounds like a failing dimmer switch, which is wwhat I think that wheel is - you are probably too young to remember floor mounted dimmerswitches that you step on to get high beam lights.

under the dash dimmer switch there is a rocker switch to turn inside light on automativly or not at all. the roller switch is to dim the dash lights not the head lights. you may have hit this switch on the way out the door or it may just be gone. rock the switch back and forth, if it doesnt move i would say its that.

What year is your truck? I have an '03 Denali... There is a small round button to the bottom left of the headlight switch to enable/disable the inside lights on entry/exit.

I have a 95.

do the lights not come on for all the doors or just the drivers door? the last time i ran into this it turned out to be a busted wire in the pillar behind the drivers door.

So far I have only checked the drivers side. A few minutes ago I was messing with the button (don't know the technical name, it looks like a toogle) that turns it on and off when the door is opened and closed. I was pushing it in and out, the lights were coming on! I think it's a short in it.

How can I fix that?
