$300 for a sensor?

just took my 96 g20 into the dealer to have the clutch replaced. they claim that i burnt up a sensor. they didnt clarify which one it was but charged my dad $300? 300 maybe for a MAF but i know the MAF wasnt burnt up cuz i had no prob driving it but 300 for a temp sensor does that sound right?:(
