Throttle body spacers?

I was wondering if anyone had ever installed a throttle body spacer, helix type, on their V-8 Ram. I was thinking of getting one on eBay but I'm not sure if they work or not. Any help is appreciated.

dont waste your money. They dont do anything for fuel injected applications

Thanks, what about the cold air intake systems like K&N. Do you know anything about them?

a throdel body spacer works like a mini tunnel ram increasing tourqe. air intakes are what it's all about, getting more air to flow through your motor. a free flow exhaust will also help.don't forget to get a free flowing converter or eliminate it if possible

the throttle body spacers work on some applications, however with the way that the dodge fuel injection is set up, and the intake manifold design, you won't see any improvements. I had one on my old chevy (carb, not FI) and it worked great, the whole idea of the TB spacer is to give the air and fuel more time to mix, and with a carb, it works great, I saw very noticable gains on the carbed engine. however, on the dodges, the fuel is injected just before the intake valve, so no matter how big of a spacer you use, you still don't get any better air/fuel mixture. also, another side effect of the TB spacer is that it adds some volume to the intake manifold, which can help low end and throttle responce, however, again with the dodge, the overall size of the intake manifold is so big that the small amount of volume gained by a spacer isn't very noticable.
the cold air intakes on the other hand, can give noticable improvements. however, you don't need to shell out the $$$ for a name brand one, they are all about the same anymore. what I did was just get a higher flowing stock replacement filter, then run an insulated tube from the stock air box to the front of the truck(right behind the grill) with a scoop. it works really well, and I spent a lot less on it than a name brand CAI.
