I was looking to make some kind of an assembly to keep my guns organized in my truck....I have seen a couple guys make some basic straps, and attach them to the bottom end of the rear seats...but this doesn't sound easily accessible...I was wondering if any of you guys had some thing like this, and what did you do?

I have a buddy that keeps his 9mm shoved between the seat and the console.

What are guys doing riding around with firearms?

If you're talking baout handguns, then anything smaller than a standard Colt .45 1911 model will fit under the cupholders....that is if you have the captains chairs with center console.....the cupholders popout and there's a nice little spot that holds small items and even has two side "storage" areas for accessories......if it is not legal to have a weapon in your region then the storage area is intended solely for the safekeeping of personal items.....LOL.....i do not condone the carrying of firearms....unless they are safely secured and used only to kill bambi's 14 pt. poppa......LOL.....

I stick mine in the door pocket....I need quick access to kill the babmi's 14 pt poppa before he hits my truck for the 7th time!!!!

Well, here in Toronto it is illegal to have a handgun, unless you are in law enforcement...or such...Actually maybe you have heard Canada's Billion Dollar Disaster...the government spent over 1 billion dollars on some stupid gun registry...where you have to have register your guns....now they are dumping it...and these days you don't have to register your guns anymore....what a waste of my hard earned tax dollars....Nobody is allowed to carry any weapons on themselves....completely different from let's say like Texas and there are so many frigg'in laws up here that there are to many to count....But I am a hunter, so that means rifles and shotguns, a guess the only logical place is under the seats....or maybe just in a case on top of the seats for now....

LOL, thats funny you mention Texas. I think thats the only state where it's legal to shoot someone to protect your propery (as opposed to personal protection).

I love livin in Texas....its like its own country...LOL...gun sales require a quick background search......that is UNLESS you decide to by a gun secondhand, which is not regulated.....there is no paper trail... no nothing......if i decide to sell one of my guns to my neighbor, provided that they are of legal age(18-longgun, 21-handgun)i can sell it right on the spot without even so much as a receipt....i don't know the rules in other states but it sure is mighty easy here.....

For my rifles and shotguns...i normally just leave them under the backseat.....i am gonna try putting up some really strong velcro straps on the under side of the seat and see if it will hold one or two rifles......

I hear you there about stupid laws Silveradoking. Here in Winnipeg a few years back if the cops did a spot check and they found a baseball bat in your car/truck and there was no ball or glove , they would confiscate the bat and give you a ticket for carrying a concealed weapon, i kid you not.

Now that's just otrageous....baseball bat? What stupid dwarf (government official) figured that out?

Another Texan here,
I love Texas and there is no other place I would rather live.
I also have concealed handgun license. I do not carry my pistol all the time, I only usually carry on long trips or during hunting season. I bought a holster small enough to fit under my front seat between the drivers seat frame and the center seat frame. Fits just right for my pistol. I straped the holster to each side of the frames and angled it so if I need to reach the pistol it is positioned right. I have 40/20/40 split bench seats, so I do not know if other seat configurations have enough room, but it is worth a try.

So far I have never had to use it in an emergency situation, but it is better to have one and not use it, than to need one and not have it. And I am proud that I live in a country that allows us to have that freedom. Any way off of my soap box, I hope this helps.

in the 85 ck i took a clip on holster and put it just below the stearing wheel. two pop rivits held in place nicely. sence it had a bench seat I found a seat cover that could be made to hold a nice rifle with a cut out for the triger area.

had a cup holder I installed on the dash that my sholder hoster would fit in to nicely. it saved me from a fight or two. take the fight out of some ppl when thay run up to the truck looking for a fight. had a guy one nigt looking to fight any one in a truck that looked like mine. his wife was haveing a afair. after the guy beat on the front of the truck he came to the drivers side and there i was with the colt 45 sitting purty on the dash. he backed off realy quick and just wanted to talk.

hell, here in ontario someone could break into your house and if you shot them, you would prob go to jail and not them. they would prob take you to court....and win. thats the sad thing.

Same here.....any intruders on my property will get a nasty case of "lead poisoning".......one important thing to remember is that if you're gonna shoot...you better aim to kill......no sense in risking some lawsuit by the guy who broke into YOUR house.....in this age of frivolous lawsuits you can't even protect yourself, your property, or even YOUR OWN FAMILY from some crazy punk who decides they want your TV or stereo or your wife's necklace........a while back there was a story about some guy who tried busting into a house through the skylight....he ended up falling about 15 feet and cracking his leg.......he sued the homeowner......and he won........sorry, but that's just one of those things that seems to have gotten way out of control......

I got no problem at all with your situation, I have no problem with responsible adults that carry firearms. But it makes me a little nervous to think about all the mentally unstable people running around with firearms that is imedatley accessible to them. Because I don't carry any protection except for left fist and a right fist.

Well, If your talking about having some big weapons in your truck, Look into getting a military style holder. My best friends dad owns a old Military K2500 and it has 2 riffle holders on each side designed for Mini-14s and AR-15s. As far as handguns i have a consule in between seats that you could fit a large one. No shit about the baseball thing, I was talking to a cop here and he said as long as it isnt or has been used in a crime your fine. I keep a 50 cent wooden baseball bat that i got from a garage sale in the back of my truck.

An ASP?? I love those things. When I worked at the gas station someone came in giving me hell and I slung it out and banged the counter top to shut them up...cracked the counter all the way across....oh well. He shut up!!

Texas sounds a lot like KY... I keep my 9mm in the glovebox. It's not the most accessible place, but our state law says that unless you have a concealed carry permit (which I don't), the glovebox is the only legal place the keep it. Rifles and shotguns don't apply to this... I guess they're not as deadly??
