Automatic Gearbox

Hello there..

I have ran into afew Auto Gearbox problems and was wondering if you guy could help me...

When i start the engine* the gearbox is fine till i put it into [D]. Then the sports mode starts to flash.. (S) on the Dashboard.. I know this is a fault.. When i drive away its stuck soild in 3rd gear :(.. till i use it maunal it will not go out of 3rd gear.. and when i put it into [R] OUCH CLUNK what a kick it gives me :uhoh:.. I think the soilanoids are to blame here? or the Transmisson control unit?.. Anyways i was wondering what you guys thing its a English 2.2L 16V Vauxhall Cavailer.. 1993, gear box is a [AF35 Autobox]...

So Vauxhall is the car manufactor? I am tring to move your thread to the correct forum but I have never heard of Vauxhall before and I am 90% sure we don't have a forum for it. Is it kinda like a Chevrolet cavalier?

Vauxhall is a GM car make in England and a few other countries..one of many GM brands not "sold" here in the US...just like Opel. In fact Opel and Vauxhaul are basically one and the same in terms of model lines...they just have different company names.

The Vauxhaull Caviler should be the same as the Chevy Cavalier, just like the Vauxhaul Speedster is the same as the Opel Speedster. I've moved it to the Chevy Cavalier Problem Diagnosis sub-forum, as it seems to be the proper place after looking at the Vauxhaul/Opel sub-forums list.
