High Beam Indicator

Ok it has not done it for a couple of months but it is back again. When i switch the high beams of course the indicator light comes on but then it should go off when you put the low beams on. It dims but does not go off completely. I checked the headlight connection but it didn't do nothing and i dimmed it down and you can still see it a little. I was wondering if this was a headlight switch even though the headlights are fine. The bulbs in my HVAC system are dim too but that is just bulbs going over time.

If the indicator is coming on dim with the high beams off, it means that some low voltage power is being supplied to the bulb.
Does it do it just when the headlights are on? If you unplug both high beams, does it go out? Does go out with the cluster dimmer? Could be a bad headlamp switch or a bad ground in the cluster.

well see i was wondering about the ground because there are 2 wires grounded to the thermostat and when we replaced it the original bolts stripped the wires so we had to get some from the junkyard. Then we had to wire them up . It only does it if you if have the lights on then switch on highs and when you switch them back to low is when it does it.

Ok i narrowed it down to a wire in the connector for the headlight. Its one of the 3 or 4 in there because i pulled it out then put the switch back on and put the wires all pushed in and it went out. Should i replace the socket connector thing if it comes back?

Sounds like the terminal in the connector lost it's tension. Either the individual terminal or the whole connector should be replaced. Also take a look at the terminal spades on the switch. They may be burnt.
