Try looking for vacuum leaks. Have you used fuel injection cleaner?

Something is wrong with the Passlock system...
Have you had new keys cut, or a remote starter installed recently?
I guess it could still be in the ignition switch itself; it's Passlock I in those cars, so there will be a bulb check wire. If it isn't triggering properly, then Passlock will shut the car off. You can test it with a DMM... It's normally a thin black wire (22AWG) in the main ignition harness. It should be going ground when cranking.

I owe you a beer Brandish. Evidently the previous owner installed an alarm system and keyless entry system. The wires were all hooked and soldered . Make a long sory shot, found a cold joint. Cleaned up some other things. Car starts, runs fine...........Advice to others. Do not solder unless you are really good at it....Radio shack has the very small wire connectors needed for 22 wire.......perfect fit for the small stuff...thanks to all again...I'm sure I'll need more advice in the future :smokin: :smokin: :smokin: :smokin: :lol2:

the problem has been happening to me to and i found out it isn't what you may think what it is is the theft system in the grandam itself. What you have to do it go out turn the key over but not all the way and just leave it for 10 min. this resets the computer in the car and unlocks the theft then allowing the car to get gas and start, But it has to sit for the full 10 or it won't work.
