I have a 2001 chevy cavalier i bought a little over 2 months ago

i've taken this car back several times to 2 different guys and neither can figure out whats wrong with it
at first it was just randomly my daytime running light on my dashboard would blink several times after turning on the car and then the service light would come on
whenever this happened and i got out of my car to look at the lights my passenger headlight would be out
so i would turn off the car and turn it back on and then most of the time it would work
somtimes it would be weeks before it happened again

but now the other day i turned on my headlights and i got nothing! so i turned on my brights (which work fine) then turned them off and my headlights were on

couple days later (this friday) i drove it somehwer and when i went to leave again..no headlights and this time nothign helped i tried several times within an hour and still got nothing
the next day they worked fine till i stopped the car and when i went to leave again...no lights!
now today they are working but the daytime running light on the dash blinked and my service lights on

im hoping maybe if the service lights on and the problem is occuring while i take the car in they CAN fix it this time
but seirously
i've been there 6 times

if anyone has any clue on what could be wrong with it i'd appreciate it so that way i can TELL the guy what to check because i dont think he has a clue

no idea, these are just thoughts. fuse, loose wire at the light/switch , as long as your battery is fine and your alternator is fine it should be one of those.

try looking at the splice under the plastic cover where your hood latches, remove the valence and peel the tape back there is a 2 to 1 wire spice that causes alot of grief.

i'd suggest looking at the same splice by the hood latch prevously mentioned. All of the sudden, I had a headlight go out, and I found that spice was rotten. Very easy fix. If you can't find it on your own, the wiring schematic (sp?) in a Hayes manual will help.
