what is the best way to clean under the hood?

pop up the hood and hose it down with pressure. it will klean really good.

WOOOOOO, I seriously wouldnt suggest that unless you put a plastic bag over your distributor, and tape off were your plug wires enter your valve cover. If you dont do that then you WILL get water in your engine if you just open the hood and spray everything in sight. Your engine isnt that water proof. Also once you have that stuff covered up then I would get some engine/brake cleaner degreaser. saturate greasy areas with it then rinse (dont get nuts) just rinse off the engine. Stay clear of any electrical areas, and sensors to be safe. You can use a brush (Your sisters toothbrush will work) to get any really dirty areas clean.

oh yeah, and the most important thing, make sure your engine is completely cooled off, but thats usually common sense.
