2 Questions. Brakes and rear diff

I was reading up a little on brake bleeding and came across a thread at another website about not letting the brake completely down to the floor when the bleeder screw is loosened. It mentioned something about ripping seals at the master cylinder if i remember correctly. Is this an accurate statement? Or is it completely fine to push the pedal to the floor as the pressure is released?

The second question about my rear differential is that i am replacing the gear oil and i found some 80w-90. VFaq recommends 75w-90. There shouldn't be any problem using the 80w-90 right?

80-90 is close enough to 75-90. If anything its a little tougher. There are drawbacks to lowering and raising the weight of the oil, but its all generic info that can easily be found in a google search. Its intersting stuff, give it a shot.
