I was wondering if anyone has added air intake and/or exhaust to their TJ. I am thinking about putting some money into mine but I would like to hear from those who have some expierence with it. Does it improve performance? gas mileage? And also for exhaust, which sounds the best without killing my wallet :) Thanks for your help.

Hey Justin,
The stock header on my '97 Wrangler cracked so I installed a complete exhaust (including the header) from Pacesetter. It's been on for about a year and a half. It didn't line up well with the stock mounts and it isn't holding up well even though I only drive the Jeep ~5k a year. Granted I'm in the N.E. but if I had to do it over again I would have spent the extra money on a stainless from Borla for sure. Hope this helps.

I've had the TurboCity Intake with K&N filter for about 80k miles ('98 4L) -- got better mileage and a little more power. Recently I installed a cat-back Gibson exhaust and gained some more power. The exhaust note was nice -- I could barely hear the difference at idle (it was deeper, but not louder). Under heavy throttle, I could definately hear the exhaust, but it wasn't obnoxiously loud.
