Sorry that wasn't explained very well...my son wrote it for me. We lost the motor in the 94 cav 4 cylinder we had and bought a 93 motor to put it. Well, we put the 93 motor in and it is ready to go. It will turn over and it almost catches but about 2 seconds before it would normally start it stops. We are getting spark and gas but we are thinking she isn't on her timing and we are trying to figure out what the plug pattern is. I was told 1-4-3-2 but i don't know if that is right and i don't know if it would start from left to right or the other way.

I was also wondering could it be the push rods? Do they have to go back in the same places that they came from?

they do ideally need to go back where they came from! But firing order on the 4 cyl is 1-3-4-2.
Here is a diagram i did a while back for someone who went to change the sparks leads and just took them all off and didn't know what went where for the plug leads positioning on the coils. I believe he was able to follow it and sort his problem, hopefully it'll help you also.

If you put a 93 motor in a 94 can you use the wiring from the 94 or do you have to use the wiring from the 93? Now we aren't getting spark
