I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Today I got into the car, tried to start it and realized that the battery was dead. At first, I couldn't get my key out. I forced the key out and accidentially locked the steering wheel. I changed the battery, now I can not turn the key to start the car. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First thing, xheck to make sure the car is in pak or neutral. Next check to see if the stering wheel is in a bind. Pull hard left or right on the wheel while trying to turn the key.

Thanks for the advice. This is the first thing we tried. Any other ideas?

Maybe the key is worn try to slide the key out just a hair or try pushing it in real hard and turning.

New keys didn't work. Thanks for the advice. I will ask them to check the ignition point. Someone gave us the advice to spray a lubricant in the key hole, that didn't work. I am having to break down and call someone to come tow it to a shop hopefully tomorrow. Can't leave it at Walmart forever. Thanks again.
