The V2 Intake is actually 320 but u can get it somehwre for 250 - 280 :)

And yeah it has a little more to it than just a pipe son :)

yea the only thing thats different is that it has a turbonater built in and costs 240 bucks more then my 10 dollar home depot racing pipe.

how about this. you post non biased dyno charts of a 420a eclipse with a stock intake, a home depot or cheapo ebay intake and a aem v2 intake and well see which one helps the msot. non of them are going to change much and i dont think you will find anybody on this site that thinks it worth spending the extra money on an aem

If you think about it its not about horsepower nor power :) And I work with my dad fixin cars as a hobbie.

if its not about horsepower or power then what the heck is it about? most dsmers are ALL about horsepower. if i want my car to look good ill spend the extra 240 bucks i saved on my intake on a back bumper for my talon since thats all your rs will ever see of it

Yeah you are probably right you will smoke my ass. But thats maybe because I am not making my car for street racing. I have a very good friend who has a European design prototype eclipse. He has a very good explanation on why V2 is good and some bad aspects about it too. And yeah you can only wish to smoke him. :) Just a little aspect I think last time he ran horse power check on it he toppped about 400 to five hundred horses. I do not remember exact number but will try to post a pic of the car WHICH has a V2 INTAKE <------- ( I wounder why ?? ) just for the looks I guess... And yeah its not about HORSEPOWER all the time.. There are a lot of other factors !!

i know its not all about horsepower. its about torque too lol. modifiying a car is usually done for more power. i dont see the point in wasting money on overpriced brand name parts when knock offs or custom homemade stuff works just as good

And for what its worth, there is some power to be gained with intake pipe tunng on NT cars. But its usually 1-2 HP at best. Fine for racing in classes with strict rules. There are no other benefits to that expensive pipe, so if its "not all about HP," WTF is it about? Is that 1-2 hp worth the added expense? Hardly. Fabing up a pipe for a NT car can be a little more of a pain in the ass than a turbo car, so I'm not saying that everyone should be making ABS pipes, but I would have put that cash to better use.

I personally do not like the new ones. The old ones " Aleko" are better and simplier to modify in my opinion. Moskitch was not made for looks however as you can see lol.

Anyway, about some of the stuff going on... if your friend's eclipse has 400-500 horsepower, it's got a turbo. If it has a turbo, then there is no AEM v2 intake for it. There is 100% no reason to spend a bunch of money on a brand name intake if it's EASY to make one or find one that someone else made cheap.
Example: Injen intake for $225. Dejon intake for $145. ExtremePSI intake for $140 but comes with filter/adapter/couplers. Home depot intake $18. Now, what do you think the Injen has over the Dejon? For $120, what does the Dejon have over a home depot pipe? Hell, my $18 home depot 3'' pipe is actually more diameter than the 2 3/4'' Dejon pipe.. technically that should be better for flow!

I just bought an ExtremePSI intake. Cost me $70 shipped for the pipe with recirc, filter, mas adapter, 3 couplers and all clamps. I wanted a metal one, and wasn't going to pay $140. Depends on the person and if the bling is worth anything. I paid $40 for the home depot/ricer filter and adapter. This time, an extra $30 for a quality piece, was worth it to me. I'm rambling.

European PROTOTYPE?

400-500hp is a pretty large gap to fill in my humble opinion. I've had a lot of different experiences with certain people like you. They say they have 'evidence' and never return with it and if they do show pics then they don't even do the arguement justice.

I don't think you were banking on encountering people who actually know quite a bit about dsm's here (and cars in general might I add) so now you're stuck. Stuck in a rut without $200+ you could have used on something much more worthwhile :) .


If you show conclusive evidence that you have some actual knowledge about cars or that the EUROPEAN PROTOTYPE ECLIPSE is your bud's 400-500hp street cleaning machine then I'll shut up. Fortunately for me, I doubt I'll ever have to do so.
